New Meetup: Wilder Ranch - Out Along the Water

From: Lauren
Sent on: Monday, April 6, 2009 4:22 PM
Announcing a new Meetup for 35ish-65ish Bay Area Hikers, Daytrippers and Playful People!

What: Wilder Ranch - Out Along the Water

When: April 8,[masked]:00 PM

Price: $1.00 per person

Where: Click the link below to find out!

Meetup Description: I know some of you won't be able to make this, because it's during the week, but for those with flexible schedules this hike is for you. :)

Let's go out along the water. This is a good hike for Beginners as it is flat. We'll go as far as we can. Then take a break to eat snacks or lunch. Bring water, sunhat, sunglasses, sunscreen, rain gear if rain threatens. I think it's under 3 or 4 miles for a round trip. We could go back through the ranch buildings after if people want or up the hill a little if you all are really eager. I'm not sure where we'll have our lunch break, but it will be after about an hour and a half, either out along the coast, maybe on the beach or back at the picnic tables in the orchard back at the ranch. I'll check the weather forecast and post something about it later. I haven't ever canceled because of rain so far. We always plan an alternative activity. One time we got in the car and drove up the coast until we had driven out of the rain, so rain does not cancel. Our meetup photo of the group was taken on our last "out along the coast Wilder hike."

Parking is pay - $7 - to Ca State Parks - or park for free on Highway one. Go across the underpass and climb down the hill, though the fence and down into the ranch building area. Pass through the ranch buildings and out to a paved road. Make a right and go up the hill until you see the restrooms on the left.

Hope to see those of you who can make it. :)
