This was our very first outing and I am repeating it as we just crossed four years of nature loving. It was a very pleasant outing too. See details and photos from previous outing here
. We'll walk from Georgetown to Fletcher's boathouse on the C&O towpath (along the Potomac), enjoy a snack (please bring one!), and return to Georgetown for dinner. It will be a short and leisurely walk (about an hour each way), and the emphasis will be on socializing and discussing future activities. Hopefully we'll get to see some birds. If you are a birdwatcher I hope you will bring your binoculars and share your knowledge with us. After the walk we'll go for dinner at a restaurant in Georgetown.
This event is being organized to support the efforts of the National Wildlife Refuge Association to protect birds and animals at our refuges, especially the ones affected by the gulf oil spill. Suggested minimum donation is $10. Please donate generously as much as you can. I have donated $20. Please bring a check payable to National Wildlife Refuge Association and I will forward it. Or else you can donate at their website and bring the print-out of the receipt.
Standard disclaimer: participants are responsible for their own safety.
