Announcing a new Meetup for nature lovers' meetup!
What: Boating at Fletcher's cove
When: October 19,[masked]:00 AM
Where: Click the link below to find out!
Meetup Description: Last year we went kayaking at Fletcher's and it was one of the best times I ever had. They have kayaks, canoes and rowboats. Non-swimmers are allowed only on row-boats. Children are okay as well but must be accompanied by adult. Directions, rates, etc., are on their website
. Life jackets are included in rental fee.The entrance is located just under 400 feet north of intersection with Reservoir road. We will be in front of the food / boat rental stall.
It is supposed to be sunny in sixties next sunday, so I suggest dressing in layers. Once you start rowing you will warm up. We will go boating for about two hours and then have a picnic lunch on the beautiful grounds of Fletcher's cove. So please bring some water and a bag lunch.
There is plenty of parking there. If you don't find enough space in the first parking lot upon entering, continue driving on the gravel road which goes under the canal and into the bigger parking lot by the river.
As always, participants are responsible for their own safety.

Hope to see you there!
PS: I have posted couple of pictures of a water snake we found in rock creek park. I went hiking there with a couple of students from Howard, where I teach.
