Thanks, plans and Call for poets

My heartfelt thanks to all who came to the picnic and helped out in so many ways. It was a very enjoyable day to be out in the forest with you all. Special thanks to Nancy and Jyotsna for getting the grill and to Garden district for donating the plant. We got $73 in donations total (paypal and cash) and also the picnic was taken care of because so many people brought food and equipment. Overall I am quite pleased with the response. More than the money it is the company and being with nature that matters so for that my gratitude goes out to all of you who have participated throughout the year. I am not comfortable with asking for money and will not be asking for donations for another year. I am also going to try to reduce the number of emails that go out -- we all get too many emails!

But we will be having more picnics and get togethers during the course of the year. I think we will also do an invasive plant removal outing, a combined camping plus birding outing and perhaps a backpacking trip during the summer. And of course, much hiking. Please do let me know if you have ideas and suggestions for other outings.

I will be out of town (and probably out of internet) for the next week. So if there are any poets or poetry lovers out there who could post some poems under "Today's poem" that will be much appreciated.

See you on the trail!
