The FUNK of FORTY THOUSAND YEARS!

October 2009 marked the 26th anniversary of Michael Jackson's Thriller video. Thrill The World is the annual worldwide attempt to break the world record for the largest simultaneous Thriller dance. Thriller groups all across America and in other nations joined together at the same exact time performing the Thriller dance on October 24, 2009. We organized a local group to perform for this event at Occidental Park in Pioneer Square. Approximately 23,000 people in 32 countries broke the world record!

If you live in the greater Seattle area and would like to learn the dance in a class setting, check our calendar for rehearsals resuming August 2010. Our rehearsals and participation in the event are free, however, we will be raising money for Seattle Children's Hospital and Make A Wish Foundation. We will accept donations at all rehearsals. While preparing for the performance in 2009, over $80,000 for over 80 charities & non-profit groups was raised worldwide.

Our exclusive radio partner for our event in Seattle was WARM 106.9. They promoted the Seattle Thrillers' dance performance and world record-breaking attempt on the air, online at their station website, and they were there on-site as well to broadcast their air signal to the dancers when they played “Thriller” on the air - http://www.warm1069.com/
