Sunrise Mountain, Peoria

A changeup from our regular excursion to West Wing:

Let's return to Sunrise Mountain for a little known but interesting loop hike. We will hike the advanced loop over and around several hills along this ridge. We can watch the sun set over the White Tanks during our return.

Meet time: 6:00

Endurance: 1.5 hours

Mileage:5 miles

Trails, difficulty: Maintained, sometimes narrow hiking trail, moderate-difficult with some steep sections

Elevation Gain: 420'

Equipment: Your sturdy and broken in hikers, at least some water and a lightsource

Leashed dogs OK

Directions: From loop 101 west, exit 75th Avenue and go right (north) to Deer Valley road. Go left (west) to 83rd avenue. Go right (north) and continue past Happy Valley, past Jomax, to High Desert Dr (at the traffic light). Go left past the West Wing school and go right into it's back parking lot.
