What we’re about
OUR PURPOSE
To create a platform for women to engage in open, honest and meaningful conversations that empower you to embody the qualities of an Unstoppable Woman.
WHO THIS GROUP IS FOR
This group is for women who are interested in personal growth and development, cultivating self-acceptance and finding strengths-based solutions to problems.
THEME FOR 2024
As humans, we have a negativity bias. We are hard-wired to solve problems, spot the negative, and hyper-focus on our weaknesses. “We have a tendency to remember and be affected more by negative events than by positive events. Problems and upsetting emotions stick with us like glue.” ~Ryan Niemiec.
Due to this negativity bias, we end up taking our strengths for granted - we see them, we see ourselves, as ordinary rather than extraordinary. This can lead us down a path of feeling incomplete, unfulfilled or unworthy.
If you could think differently and direct your energy in a more positive direction, why would you ever focus on your weaknesses, when it’s your strengths that are what make you shine? ~Joseph Rosenfeld.
The Year of Strengths is your invitation to shift your focus to the positive parts of your personality! Don’t worry, the goal isn’t to ignore the negative; rather to counter the balance by focusing on what is already strong in you.
What is the key to making this shift? Appreciating and expressing your highest Character strengths because they reflect the "real" you—who you are at your core.
Research shows that knowing and using your character strengths can help you:
- Increase happiness and well-being
- Find meaning and purpose
- Boost relationships
- Manage stress and adversity
- Accomplish goals
Each month throughout 2024, you will learn how to let your strengths shine by becoming aware of, developing and expressing them.
“I hadn't had the chance to be in a session led by you before, and you were WONDERFUL. Your voice, and your clarity of instruction + powerful questions to include the group = magic!" Niamh M.

"When you help others in the same way you’ve been hurt, not only does it give your suffering meaning, it gives your life meaning". ~Adam Grant
Hello! I’m a proud 2x breast cancer survivor and a former perfectionist - these experiences taught me that by using my character strengths, I can reframe my suffering, challenges & struggles, as opportunities to be resilient and to create purpose & meaning from them. I want to help you do the same.

The topic for May - CURIOSITY!
"Curiosity is the compass that leads us to our passions." - Elizabeth GilbertTo be curious is to explore and discover, to take an interest in ongoing experience for its own sake. Curiosity is often described as novelty-seeking and being open to experience, and it’s associated with the natural desire to build knowledge. It is fulfilling to journey toward an answer, to engage in a new experience, or to learn a new fact. ~VIA Institute on Character
Did you know that:
- Curiosity is associated with happiness, health and longevity, and positive social relationships
- Curiosity helps in seeking and finding greater meaning in life
- Curiosity helps in embracing uncertain and new situations
Throughout the month, use this calendar, filled with activities and exercises, to help you approach life with curiosity.
Where does the strength of curiosity show up on your character strengths Profile? Take the VIA Survey to find out! Bring your profile to the meetup.
Here’s what we’ll walk & talk about:
- When was the last time you felt genuinely curious about something? What sparked your curiosity?
- How do you nurture curiosity in your daily life? Are there specific habits or practices that help you stay curious and engaged with the world around you?
- Looking ahead, what are some goals or aspirations you have that could be fueled by curiosity? How do you plan to pursue them?
Here’s the plan for our walk & talk:
- Meet by the adult swings in Campbell Park (info on parking in Campbell)
- Walk & Talk along the Los Gatos Creek Trail (about 2 miles)
- Participate in a Sharing Circle
- Take a group photo
After the walk & talk, I'm walking to Orchard Valley Coffee in downtown Campbell - I'd love for you to join me!
Look forward to seeing you there!
Joyfully,
ShannonShannon D. Silva
