To HELP locate WHERE this Trail is, this is the Map Link for the Dakota Trail, part of the Three Rivers Park district:

Weds, May 12th, @ 9a - ??
(However long you want to walk; I am aiming for about 1 - 2 hours, or maybe more??)

Address is 3340 Shoreline Drive, in Orono (technically is Navarre, really), ZIP 55391
(Culver's PH #[masked])

Culvers is conveniently located near the Trail (about 1 block off the trail). We can walk for as LONG or for as SHORT, as anyone wants to.... If we head East, that is towards Wayzata (from Culver's Wayzata is still about 6 miles away)...& West is towards Mound (about 2 1/2 miles).

Culver's also shares space with the HOLIDAY Gas Station (same bldg).

Dakota Rail Regional Trail:
5 am - sunset
Dakota Trail is a 13.5 mile regional multi-use trail that follows the former Dakota railroad corridor thru St. Bonifacious, Minnetrista, Mound, Spring Park, Minnetonka Beach, Orono, & Wayzata.
10-foot wide, paved-surface trail, nice for Walking, Biking, In-line Skating, Jogging. Is "Striped" with a painted, dotted line down the middle. Trail has 3-foot wide grass shoulders on either side of the trail.

The Trail is Especially BEAUTIFUL from Wayzata up to the Culver's, alomg that 6 -mile stretch. You can see a few different bays of water along the way, off-shoots from Lake Minnetonka. Lots of wild birds, foxes, deer, racoons, & WILD TURKEYS, too!! (I've SEEN 'EM MYSELF)!! There are a few "Marsh" type areas too, where you can try & spot wildlife.

Many "famous" people live out here.... in fact, one home that people pass along the Trail belongs to Irwin Jacobs, the financial guy....also the Pillsbury home is out here, so is Lorie Line's, & some wrestling guy...can't think of his name...& oh yeah, Mel Jazz, too!! Probably a few others I can't recall right now...

I, Cheryl Heilman, am hosting the Dakota Trail walk, and if you'd like, you can join me for a quick breakfast, or cup of coffee, whatever, @ Culver's before the walk, or grab coffee & a snack @ Holiday, etc.. at about 9a. We will START the walk by 9:45a.

If you can't find me, give me a quick call on my Cell, # is:[masked]-3866. I will have a Sign on table that says "Dakota Trail Walking Meet-Ups".

Parking is available all around Culver's. You'll notice a Snyders right next to Culvers that is now closed (out of business); Culvers and Snyders share this parking lot. There's a Lunds kitty corner from Culvers, which has a Park & Ride for MTC buses, so it's OK to park there, too
