- Touring the Yale Art Gallery [FREE!]Yale University Art Gallery, New Haven, CT
Hey everyone! Our visits to the Yale Art Museum continue to be an enjoyable time for everyone who comes. And considering how miserable spring weather can be with all the rain, why not do an indoor activity like touring the museum?!
It's completely free and open to the public; thus, we won't have to worry about any fees beyond parking.
I've set up a guided tour for our group at 11:30 AM so we can have someone knowledgeable explain much of the art we will see while there. The guided tour should last about 1 hour in total. Afterward, we should be able to walk around the museum on our own for another hour or so if we'd like to do so (as many groups had liked to do previously).
The downside is that the guided tour can only have a hard max of 15 attendees. So please only RSVP if you want to go and have a good idea that you can make it that day and time! If plans change on your end, please be sure to update your RSVP so anyone on the waitlist can be notified of their spot on the "go-list" promptly. (Thank you in advance!)
I'll be at the museum lobby by 11:00 AM or earlier to help get our group together in time for the guided tour. There's a seating area immediately to the right of the museum's front desk, which is where I'll be to gather everyone.
Once we're done with the museum, we can walk to a nearby coffee shop or restaurant for an afternoon tea & coffee or snack---and there are many such places within walking distance of the museum that are also affordable! Of course, you're free to leave whenever you want or need during this event. (So, if you'd like to leave after the museum tour, you don't have to stick around once it's finished.)
Regarding parking, here's what they say on their website: "Visitors can park in metered spaces on nearby streets or in the Chapel-York Garage, conveniently located at 150 York Street."
FYI: THERE IS NO FOOD OR DRINK ALLOWED IN THE MUSEUM, so please don't come to the museum with them. Also, anyone with large coats, bags, and backpacks will be asked to store them in the lockers located behind the front desk on the ground level before entering the galleries.
I hope to see you there! :-)

Please note that you MUST purchase something during the event. Due to the very small size of this place, it is important that we have members that are going to contribute to this business. We do not want to fill up their space with non-paying customers. They have non-alcoholic options and tea. Similar to our last event here, they will likely be making a special cocktail for us.
This place can be easy to miss. There is a door code as well that changes. Please find it on their website. Will also update here.
This place is SMALL and space will be tight so keep that in mind if you are sensitive to that.
