This art gallery, along with the National Gallery, is my favourite in London - and there is some pretty heavy competition! The reason is its wonderfully eclectic collection of paintings, sculpture, armour and furniture which make it really very unique.

From the moment you enter this charming and elegant museum and are faced with the wonderful grand staircase, its a non-stop feast for the eyes, with paintings, sculpture, armour, clocks and furniture. Much of the collection is French, though there are Dutch masters too and other greats such as Titian, Canaletto and Valesquez on display. Very little has changed since this collection first opened in 1900.

Aside from all that i'll tell you where the collection comes from and the fascinating history of the family who have given us this glorious array of exquisite and fascination pieces of art and objects. Truly a London gem!
