New! Theatre History walking tour - from Shakespeare to Lloyd-~Webber

Details

Photo - upper body of Laurence Olivier as Hamlet, outside the National Theatre

Meet 11am outside Globe Theatre entrance on New Globe Walk - closest stations London Bridge & Blackfriars

Cost - £14

A saunter through Sothwark and Covent Garden, learning about the history of theatre in this country and taking in some of London's most glorious sites. This walk is full of surprises.........

See where the original Globe stood, across the street from the famed Rose theatre rediscovered in the eighties; learn about Elizabeth 1's love of bear baiting (yes, sorry, but it's true!); take in the Brutalist structure which is the glorious National Theatre; see the location of a lost theatre and be prepared to hear about London's most haunted theatre.

There's other stuff too, but then, as i mentioned at the top of this blurb, if i mentioned them, there wouldn't be any surprises!
