On this moderate, shutdown-free hike, we will explore the Clopper Lake area of the 6,300-acre Seneca Creek State Park conveniently located in nearby Montgomery County, MD. We will follow a 6-mile circuit that features woodlands, stream valleys, and lake views. Our route will also take us past a restored 19th-century cabin and the archeological remains of the Clopper estate. Bring water, lunch, mud-worthy boots and $5 for transportation and trip fees. We will carpool at 10 a.m. from the Grosvenor-Strathmore Metro Station. Please note: We will NOT be making a pit stop en route because of the very short drive, so be sure to pack your lunch with you; there are facilities at the Visitor Center/parking area.
