Title: Scrum4HW - principles, myths & results
Scrum is mainly used in software development projects, but the framework can be used in other domains as well. Popularity is growing to use Scrum in product development, where a product fits the description “If you can kick it, you can Scrum it!” I’m talking about industrial products like cars, pens, cell-phones or combine harvesters. Over the past years teams have experimented with Scrum in this domain and in August a group of early adopters got together in the Boulderado hotel to join forces. In this talk I will explain the Scrum principles as applied in hardware product development. I’ll talk about some myths (like not being to able to produce a shippable result in two weeks) and have a case study from John Deere. And, of course time for Q&A all throughout the talk.
More than 15 years in Scrum, trainer of many people around the globe, and avid supporter of using Scrum principles and practices in a clean and clear way. Also, the driver behind the Agile Product Charter where the values for building products in an agile way are defined. And, the enthusiast behind Wikispeed Colorado where a group of enthusiast is using Scrum to build the Wikispeed car - ages range from 13 years on-wards!
