MCP, Skills & Context Engineering: Building Real AI Agents (Hands-On)
Kiln Co-Working Space, 2101 Pearl Street, Boulder, CO, USAgenda
6pm - 6:30pm - Food, Networking
6:30 - 7:30 - Topic Discussion
7:30 - 7:45 - Q&ATopic - MCP, Skills & Context Engineering: Building Real AI Agents (Hands-On**)**
Des- In this hands-on follow-along session, we'll unlock two of Claude's most practical superpowers — MCP and Skills — and use them to introduce the discipline of context engineering. You'll learn what an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server actually is and how it differs from a Claude connector, what a Skill is and how it packages expertise and workflows you can compose into your own custom agent. From there, we'll level up from "vibe coding" to production thinking by exploring the BMAD Method -a multi-agent, context-engineered approach that turns loose prompting into structured, production-ready software delivery. Bring a laptop: every concept is demoed live and built for all levels, so you'll leave able to wire up your own tools, skills, and agent workflow.
Speaker Profile - Julien Sauget is a software innovator and technology executive specializing in cloud, DevSecOps, and AI-driven delivery. As Founder & Partner at E3JM Consulting, he leads a team of principal engineers and fractional CTOs who help engineering organizations already using agentic AI unlock an additional 5× in delivery velocity — combining agentic frameworks with targeted SDLC and CI/CD transformation. His work turns AI experimentation into production-grade, context-engineered delivery. Julien brings hands-on, in-the-trenches experience to this session on MCP, Skills, and context-engineered AI development.
