What we’re about
This group will go on day hikes and overnight camping trips. Suitable for anyone who is keen on adventure, likes a bit of exercise and looking to meet new people.
The main organiser carries a personal locator beacon on all hikes and is a certified Trained First Aider, so you can feel comfortable coming out with us. Safety is always key. Please look at the difficulty rating for each hike as we will do easy hikes for beginners, medium hikes for those with a bit more experience and some more challenging hikes for those who want to test themselves :)

Led by Helen KF and Mike F
Fitness difficulty: 2 out of 5 - easy-medium
Technical difficulty: 2 out of 5 - easy
Mixture of sand walking and gravel paths. Awesome views over the harbour towards Rangitoto.
Here's the plan:
Before 11:00am - Meet on the grass verge outside Campbell's Bay Methodist Church, 218 Beach Road, Campbells Bay. Would suggest parking in either Huntly Road which is the main beach carpark or if that is full you can try The Esplanade a little bit further along which also has beach parking.
11:00am - 11:45am - Walk a loop in Centennial Park.
11:45am - 1pm - Walk from Campbell's Bay to Brown's Bay mostly along the beach with some gravel paths. Low tide is at 2:27pm.
1pm - Lunch at Browns Bay Brewing Company. Food menu
I have booked a table for 20 people. Please answer the RSVP question as to whether you want to join us for a sit-down lunch or would prefer to just chill on the beach and bring your own lunch. It is important to answer the question so that I can extend the table booking if there's lots of interest.
2.00pm - 3.15pm - Walk back along the beach to starting point as fast or as slow as you like :)
3:15pm - 3:30pm - Approx finish time
Bring - Normal hiking gear - you can wear trail running shoes or sturdy walking shoes for this walk, hiking boots not required. A hat, sunscreen, raincoat and warm top. NO JEANS!
Food - Bring a few snacks and plenty of water (suggest 2l)
If you are happy to offer lifts to others please comment below with your mobile number and location where you can give a lift. Suggest giving $10 to your driver if you get a lift. Depending on which part of Auckland you live in you could also get public transport to the starting point.
**Please note, we will not be accepting gold coin donations for this event. It is a special social event to enjoy time together before everyone heads off on their own Xmas holidays and adventures.
If you can no longer attend please update your RSVP immediately to allow others to join.
Be sure to read all the details before you RSVP. No guests - if you have friends who would like to join get them to sign up to the group and RSVP.
We look forward to seeing you.
