Using ML For Parkinson's Detection And Particle Photon Tour

** Reduced parking available. Park downstairs. When you arrive upstairs, ask the person behind the desk, and they will give you a validation ticket that reduces the parking charge to $7.00. Our first speaker for the evening, Antonio Rodriguez, will be giving an awesome presentation entitled "How to detect Parkinson tremors using ML in Microwatts". Using various tools, Antonio will demonstrate how to do: - signal conditioning - feature extraction - training - download to hardware - detection of the tremor by inference Antonio will also do some other experiments with vibration that show the understanding of signal conditioning and feature extraction, which are critical for a good inference. Then after that, Karlos Knox will lead us on an exciting journey into the Particle Photon with his talk entitled "Solving real world problems with Particle Photon". The Particle Photon is a Wi-FI IOT device for creating connected projects and products for the Internet of Things. It's easy to use, it’s powerful, and it’s connected to the cloud. The board is powered by a Cypress W-Fi chip alongside a powerful STM32 ARM Cortex M3 microcontroller. In this overview of the Particle Photon, plan to understand the device and how it works, how to connect to the Photon, and how to register it with Device Cloud (particle console). We will briefly review Device Cloud and its use case for creating projects and products. We will finish up with a Q/A and briefly discuss using the Particle Photon as the basis for your projects, connecting sensors, monitors, motors and many other electronic controlled components. IoTBytes - Introduction to Raspberry Pi - Headless Setup

Let's take a slower pace, and learn how to setup a headless Raspberry Pi. We'll cover setting up the SD card, connecting to the Pi for the first time, and doing the basic setup. All without connecting a keyboard or monitor to the Raspberry Pi. For this demo, I'll be using the following: USB to TTL Serial Cable - https://www.adafruit.com/product/954 Raspberry Pi 4 - https://www.adafruit.com/product/4295 Apple 12W USB Charger - https://smile.amazon.com/Apple-Power-Adapter-iPhone-iPad/dp/B00A83I8G2/ Anker USB Type-C cable - https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B071G5YCS6/ 32GB MicroSD card - https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B073JWXGNT Please note that these items are simply what I will be using. We will discuss why I chose these items, and how to select the correct items for yourself. Any model of Raspberry Pi can be used. A minimum of 4GB SD card is required, and I strongly recommend class 10 rated card at minimum. The folks at Pok-E-Jo's are nice enough to let us use the room for free, so please show our thanks by coming hungry and ordering dinner. https://pokejos.com/
