About us
If you read romance and erotica. If you live, work, or play in Park Slope. Then this is the book club for you! This is the sister to Manhattan's Smutty Book Club and International (aka Virtual) Smutty Book Club. We read, talk, laugh, eat and drink.
It has come to our attention that someone has been using the name of Smutty Book Club and its organizers to invite people to for-profit events. Smutty Book Club (SBC) & Brooklyn Smutty Book Club (BSBC) are strictly social clubs and do not profit off of events. No fees are collected to participate in SBC or BSBC. All official Club events will always be listed on the Meetup.com website. All Club communication will come through the Meetup.com website. If you receive any solicitation for an event or receive communication outside of Meetup, asking for a fee - it is a SCAM. Please let us know if you have any concerns. Thank you
Brooklyn Smutty Book Club is in-person. We meet at Paddy's of Park Slope.
Paddy's makes great drinks, but they don't serve food. Feel free to bring your dinner or order in!

BROOKLYN Smutty Book Club - Ice Planet Barbarians by Ruby Dixon
Paddy's of Park Slope, 273 13th Street, Brooklyn, NY, USIt's finally happening. We are reading Ice Planet Barbarians by Ruby Dixon! This book has been discussed and passed over for ten years because the dark start of the book does not match the tone of the book or the series. If you are triggered by trafficking, rape, suicide and forced abortion, then please skip the first 19 to 21 pages. The rest of the book is powerful women and sexy aliens. Rumor has it the print version available at Target is edited to better match the tone of the series. It would be cool if someone could pick that book up so we can compare.
Quick housekeeping note: Scammers have been using the name of Smutty Book Club and its organizers to invite people to for-profit events. If you receive any solicitation for an event or receive communication outside of Meetup asking for money, then it is a scam. Please let us know if you see anything suspicious.
Back to Ice Planet Barbarians by Ruby Dixon! Here's what the publisher says:
You'd think being abducted by aliens would be the worst thing that could happen to me. And you'd be wrong. Because now, the aliens are having ship trouble, and they've left their cargo of human women—including me—on an ice planet.
And the only native inhabitant I've met? He's big, horned, blue, and really, really has a thing for me...The book for each month is chosen at the previous book club. So please come with your suggestions!
Please note: Paddy's of Park Slope serves plenty of drinks, but does not serve food. They welcome people to bring in food, or order in.
