What we're about
Our workshop are exclusively for those photographers searching for coveted information about the often secretive and highly guarded world of fashion photography.
Fashion photography is a genre of photography (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Photography) which is devoted to displaying clothing (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clothing) and other fashion (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fashion) items. In doing so, you’re goal is to accomplish three things; sell a product/garment, sell a lifestyle and sell a story.
Fashion photography is most often conducted for advertisements (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Advertisement) or fashion (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fashion) magazines (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magazine) such as Vogue (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vogue_(magazine)), Vanity Fair (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vanity_Fair_(magazine)), or Elle (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elle_(magazine)). Over time, fashion photography has developed its own aesthetic (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aesthetic) in which the clothes and fashions are enhanced by the presence of exotic locations or accessories. Fashion Photographers not only photograph garments but also interpret the underlying ideas or themes of the season, the clothing range, the designer or the brand.
They work in studios and on location to produce imaginative and eye-catching images that advertise clothes, accessories and lifestyle. Fashion photographs are commissioned for a variety of publications, ranging from mail-order catalogues and websites, to high-fashion magazines and Sunday supplements.
Fashion photography is a is not only an art, most importantly, it’s a business!
