What we're about

If you don't believe in supernatural entities or powers, if you are concerned about religious intolerance or religiously motivated violence, if you rely on human reasoning and science to guide your decisions and behavior, if you have a naturalistic view of the world, or you just don't believe in God or gods, you are not alone. The Boulder Atheists group provides presentations, meetings, and serves as a social community for atheists, agnostics, rationalists, secular humanists, Brights, and free thinkers in and around Boulder, Longmont, Lafayette, Broomfield, and surrounding communities in Northern Colorado.

Boulder Atheists wish to promote the understanding and acceptance of atheism with public education, good deeds, public activities and affiliations with other local and national secular groups. We strive to be inclusive to ALL and promote gender equality, LGBTQ equality and racial justice.

Our events will be posted on the Meetup calendar and on the Events page of our website. All of our events are open to the public.
Please visit our official website at www.boulderatheists.org for additional information and links.

Note: Since not all of our community members use Meetup, the attendance numbers listed here may not reflect the total number of people attending the events.

Longmont Dinner at Caprese Trattoria

Caprese Trattoria

We have dinners and /or lunches on Wednesdays in Longmont. We strive to explore different eateries. Seating is limited for this event- so sign up early! If you sign up and can't make it, please change your RSVP to no by noon on Tuesday, so someone else can take your spot.

Frank and Pam will host for this one! Caprese Trattoria offers authentic Italian food at 1067 S Hover Rd., Longmont.

NOTE: This dinner starts at 5:30, so we can get a drink and appetizer at happy hour prices!
Here's the menu.

Share your religious trauma or rejoice with others on your absence of it!

Picnic Lunch at Viele Lake

Harlow Platts Community Park

The weather is getting nice so let's start alternating our restaurant event at
Tra Lings with a picnic at Harlow Plattes Park / Viele Lake. Meet us at the covered shelter. Bring a lunch and a chair/blanket in case the shelter is full. Look for the Boulder Atheist sign in case we have to get together at other tables or under a tree.

We will have a picnic on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month. The other Thursdays we will have our regular restaurant event.

NOTE: IF THE WEATHER IS COLD OR RAINING WE WILL MOVE THE EVENT TO TRA LINGS. Please check this event for location before coming. Frank Z. will be our host each week.

Mid-morning walk at Coot Lake

Coot Lake

We'll meet at the Coot Lake trail head on 63rd St, near the trail sign.
The parking lot at the trailhead is small, but there is plenty of additional parking across the street at Tom Watson park.

This is a flat easy trail. The "official" Coot Lake trail is only 1.3 miles, but it connects to other trails, so we can walk a little further. We'll walk for about 1.5 hours.
Here's a link to the AllTrails description.

After our walk, let's head over to Gunbarrel for lunch! I'm thinking Avery Brewing, as they have dog-friendly outdoor seating.

They are now sharing space at The Diagonal Shopping center, at the S.E. corner of 28st and Diagonal Highway (in the building where the Boulder County DMV is located).

Frank Z. is the host for this event.
