Meetup Group promoting classes, events and meetings of the Boulder Art Association. Established in 1923, the Boulder Art Association is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization promoting visual art and creative community in Colorado's Front Range. We host art exhibitions, foster art education, facilitate collaboration among artists, and promote the value that art brings to individuals and society. Weekly Art Warmup
·OnlineOnlineALL ARTISTS WELCOME! Come jumpstart your week by energizing your art practice with this supportive community. Many attendees have found showing up at the beginning of the week helps them break through any creative blocks or time constraints. TODAY'S AGENDA:
- Introductions: 10-15 minutes,
- Work individually: approx. 1 hr & 30 minutes,
- Last 15 minutes: Sharing our art (optional) or continue working if you prefer.,
HOW THIS WORKS: Be prepared with supplies to work in whatever style and medium you choose. You can use this time for experimentation, to create a series of small works, or as a warm up before tackling bigger art projects in your studio. THIS IS YOUR ART PRACTICE, EXPLORE AND HAVE FUN! Friday, April 3rd & Saturday, April 11th, 2 - 5:00 PMArtist Trading Cards (ATCs) are artworks the size of standard trading cards (3.5x2.5”). ATCs are meant to be traded, not sold (but keeping or gifting your personal favorites is fine!)
ATCs are perfect for experimenting with different mediums, styles or subjects. They are fantastic for planning larger artworks. They are great for daily art challenges - and so very satisfying for Zentangle, abstract or Neurographic art, quick sketches or even detailed drawings.
Plus they are a fun, low-pressure way to create art!The BAA will have blank cards from a variety of art papers plus markers, color pencils, pens, watercolors and collage materials available for creating your very own cards to Make & Take or Trade. Free! All supplies are included.
Join us one or both afternoons and create a collection - or just one or a few - of small art works. All levels welcome. Stop in for a few moments or for all 3 hours, one day or both.
