What we're about

Until further notice, all meetings will be online only, via Zoom (see Zoom info below).

We meet the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of each month (unless New Year's Day or the 4th of July or another event gets in the way) to provide networking time and a speaker who will address topics pertinent to job seekers. See below and/or click on "Events" above to see upcoming events.

BoulderNet is free and open to the public. All are welcome! We encourage serious job seekers! Meetings are from 9 to approx. 10:30 a.m.

We are a job search networking & presentations group with members from diverse professional backgrounds. Unlike networking groups focused on a specialized profession, members may exchange information on any inside company contacts they may have without increasing the level of competition for the kinds of jobs they are personally seeking.

We host high-quality job search and career development speakers at our meetings. These speakers provide professional guidance on increasing members' job hunting skills and often offer a certain amount of individualized service for free.

There are so many changes in the corporate world, and a loss of job security in today's employment market. We at BoulderNet are seeing an increased interest in people wanting to learn more about employment opportunities, career networking, and self-employment in Colorado.

All attendees have the opportunity to introduce themselves and their job search goals and target companies. Constructive feedback, resources, leads, referrals and encouragement from all attending will be encouraged.

Upcoming schedule (scroll down for more info on each meeting and how to join each meeting):
April 6 - Advanced LinkedIn - Mark Lauterbach
April 20 - State of Employment - Donald Strankowski
May 4 - Kara Johnson (career counselor & life design coach)

We currently typically have 15-20 attendees at meetings (the # of attendees listed on Meetup for past meetings doesn't include attendees who are not Meetup members nor Meetup members who don't RSVP).

We appreciate Dan Wegner of Thriive (spelled correctly) Coaching & Consulting sponsoring BoulderNet: 720 201-4782, Dan@ThriiveGroup.com, www.linkedIn.com/in/DanWegner1.

The Power of Failure - Laura Novak of Workforce Boulder County

Link visible for attendees

This meeting will be online via Zoom only. See Zoom info below.

In our career journey, failure can be a powerful catalyst for growth, learning, and ultimately, success. By embracing failure as an integral part of our career journey, we can unlock new perspectives, discover hidden strengths, and cultivate resilience. Redefining failure allows us to shift our perspective from conventional notions and break free from the fear of making mistakes. Through harnessing the transformative power of failure, we can redefine our career journeys, turning challenges into opportunities and ultimately forge a path to long-term fulfillment and success.

Laura Novak has a rich and winding career story. The story includes chapters like: I Went to College & All I Got Was this Lousy Film Degree. Preschool Teachers are Real Teachers Too! Now What… Guess I’ll Go Back to School & Get a Master’s in Social Work? In her current career chapter, Laura is a workshop facilitator with Workforce Boulder County. She designs in-house curriculum and leads virtual & in-person career development workshops. A collaborator at heart, Laura seeks out workshop development projects with partnering agencies. Recent projects have included creating a Future of Work workshop alongside The Office of the Future of Work and co-leading a session for career development professionals at this year’s Colorado Career Development Association’s Fall Conference. Laura is a connector, developer, encourager, and a creative.

Those attending will have the opportunity to introduce themselves and their job search goals and target companies. Constructive feedback, resources, leads, referrals and encouragement from all attending will be encouraged.

We strongly recommend RSVPing at https://www.meetup.com/BoulderNet-Meetup. RSVPing will help you network which can be very important for your job search, and, it helps BoulderNet attract great presenters.

If you'd rather not RSVP for the meeting, you can go directly to https://zoom.us/j/95748490529?pwd=Z0g2dFdtRzhabm1JRFBrNEpmVWF1dz09.
