I am interested in your idea.  Perhaps a public library for the venue?  I know the Santa Monica Library allows meetups there.  Thoughts?

It looked like nobody was going to pick up the ball and preserve this Meetup upon Chris' departure, so I did. However I'm so new here that I haven't even attended a BionicPulse meetup yet! I am hoping it's an active group and that one or more of you will fill me in on what the meetups have been like so far so that I can continue whatever traditions exist. You are welcome to reply to the group or to email me privately at [address removed].

My name is Karl Simanonok, and I hold a Ph.D. in Physiology. I am intensely interested in the brain and consciousness and how they work together, as I would assume you must be too. I've developed a theory of consciousness that I would like to test experimentally; it is the first and so far the only theory of consciousness that is capable of being experimentally tested. You can review it at but while it seems so clear to me, I am told that it is not very clearly written for the lay person. I would appreciate any comments you may have that might help me improve it.

It seems appropriate to arrange a BionicPulse meetup to present the concept to you in a lecture/question-answer session, and show you how the brain can be understood to work to support consciousness in much the same way that a mechanic might explain how a car's engine works and makes the car go: emphasis on mechanisms and little if any philosophy. Can I please get a reply from you as to whether or not you'd be interested in this kind of meetup? And can you suggest a possible venue for it?

Thanks for your interest.
