What we're about

Do you have a “once in a lifetime” motorcycle ride that you’ve always wanted to take? Or maybe more than one? Would you like to expand your group of riding friends and Ride the Adventure you’ve been dreaming about?

Join the club and Ride the Adventures with us!

This year we are planning some fantastic rides all over the world. 2020 was a bit of a dud for riding adventures. We did have a very small group do some outstanding riding in Virginia and West Virginia. In spite of COVID the riding there was fantastic.

In 2021 we are planning a trip to Belize (English speaking country in Central America) and to Europe (Portugal and Spain) and back to The Appalachians and Smokey Mountains (West Virginia, Virginia, Tennessee and maybe the Carolinas).

Every year we try to go overseas for at least one ride so put Portugal / Spain in your sights for Oct 3 - 10th 2021. And watch the meetup site for updates as we finalize the details.

We use MeetUp for club members to stay connected and alerted about upcoming rides and gatherings – and to survey on our ever-building wish list of new Bucket List Rides for next year 😊.

This is a great place to make new friends. ALL riders and ALL bikes are WELCOME! Passengers and significant others too.

In between the destination rides we will also be holding local gatherings and day-long or half-day rides (in Bucks County PA, USA and in Frankfurt, Germany).

The Meetup Organizers and Tour Captains are Kevin O’Neill and Jeff Book. Kevin is in Bucks County and Jeff is in Frankfurt. Kevin and Jeff are lifelong riding buddies who have travelled the world together on two wheels.

Check out our website for more detailed information and to reserve your spot for upcoming rides at www.BucketListMotorcycleTours.com.

*Please note that some of our destination rides have a limit on number of riders due to rental bikes available so please book early to secure your spot.

Bucket List Moto Tour Club - Meet and Greet / 2023 Ride Plans

Needs a location

$20.00

Hi Everyone
Please join us for a fall meet & greet and 2023 ride planning meeting at 1:30pm on Saturday, November 5th at The Continental Tavern in Yardley.

2022 was a fantastic motorcycle touring year for the Bucket List Motorcycle Tour Club.

We toured in several states this year including Virginia and Carolina for the "Tail of the Dragon" and in Arizona where we rode through Tucson, Scottsdale and the famous red rocks of Sedona.

We had several local, one day rides in PA including "Biplanes and Polo Ponies", the Norton Show, The Gentleman's Charity Ride for men's health.

We also rode in the Alps in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Italy as well as the mountains and the beautiful blue coastline of Croatia and... rode through the jungle and beaches of Belize! These were primarily recon rides in preparation to bring larger groups next year!

We also participated in several advanced motorcycle training courses including Intermediate Rider Course (IRC) and the truly exhilarating Advanced Riders Courses (ARC) on the Pocono and Pittsburg Race Tracks!

Now it's time to think about our plans for 2023. So...

Please join us for a fall meet and greet at 1:30pm on Saturday, November 5th at The Continental Tavern in Yardley, PA. In addition to all of us getting to know each other better we will also provide updates on upcoming trips (scheduled and in the works) for 2023.

We'll provide some details about our currently scheduled rides and also gather your input, suggestions and wish lists for other local and travel destinations for the year.

This will be a great opportunity to meet some of your fellow riders and share your thoughts about local and regional rides for the new year!
Look forward to seeing all of you then!
- Kevin

PS. I will also hold a zoom meeting for those who cannot make the live meeting but prefer to meet and greet in person :-)

Belize (Central America) on-road, off-road adventure!

Needs a location

$200.00

Tour highlights:
This is part riding tour and part jungle and ocean adventure. Some of it is light off-road riding. All of it is FUN!

The friendly and welcoming people of Belize speak English and you can spend US or Belizean dollars (the exchange rate is an easy 2 Belize dollars to every one US dollar).

What you’ll see or do: We will visit rain forest reserves, Mayan ruins, waterfalls and beautiful ocean beaches too. We will explore a jungle farm, an animal sanctuary and nature preserve too. We will sample the nightlife and great Belizean food and even spend some time kayaking, swimming and zip-lining too. The last day of the trip you will be able to choose either lounging on the beach relaxing after our epic ride or a full day snorkeling trip out to the beautiful vibrant barrier reef!

Riding Details:
The ride is mostly on paved roads but we will do some light off road riding (about 80% on road, 20% off road). The bikes are "on road / off road" adventure bikes – very manageable 150cc to 250cc options. Seat heights range from 30 inches to 33 inches - easily managed for most riders.

Because the bikes are smaller (cc wise) they may not be suitable for two-up riding but some adventurous couples certainly do ride together.

Meeting point: Belize City International Airport. Riders will be asked to arrive within a 4 hour window based on available flights and will be met by the Tour Captain at the Belize City Airport. We will then take a 15 min “hop” flight and a quick taxi ride to Hopkins Bay, Belize. This is our home base and location of the bike rental company.

NOTE - the club will meet several times before this trip to make sure everyone is comfortable with travel and logistical details. Don't worry if you have never been to Belize... we are there to help guide the way :-)

What to bring: Weather appropriate riding clothing. Belize is typically around 85 degrees Fahrenheit and moderately humid. Lightweight riding boots and long pants and long sleeve shirts are recommended (although not mandatory). Helmets are provided by the motorcycle rental company at a minimal extra charge. Bikes have limited top case storage so pack lightly. We will have a stop at the halfway point to change out clothing and supplies, as the route is an “out and back – refresh and refit - then out and back again”

We recommend you bring sunscreen, sunglasses and a collapsible hat with a brim for times when we are off the bikes. We will visit waterfalls, swimming holes and ocean beaches along the way so be sure to bring your swimming suits and a small towel too if you care to swim/wade.

Cost Breakdowns (these are estimates until # of attendees and lodging details are finalized)

  • Lodging ~$200 to $225 per night single occupancy (you will pay the hotels directly as you go. I will secure room blocks and hold on credit card - hence deposits)
  • Motorcycle Rentals ~ $450 for the week (you will pay at the rental shop directly)
  • Event Fee - $200 per person for the week (paid upfront included in deposit)
  • Airfare is estimated to be about $600 - $700 to Belize (I used American Airlines as a benchmark)
  • plus ~$150 for in-country hop from International Airport to local airport in Dangriga via Maya Air

Final notes:
We will have a minimum of 8 and a maximum of 10 riders for this ride. To hold your spot each RSVPing rider will need to provide a deposit of $250. We need this to hold the bikes and hotels for our group. I will contact you after you RSVP via Meetup message / personal email to make arrangements for the deposit.
