Consequence-Based Risk Management in ICS Systems - with Jim McGlone

Details

To start 2019 off with a bang, Jim McGlone of Kenexis will lead us in a discussion of Process Hazard Analysis and how we can use it in planning the security of industrial control and automation systems.

2 CPE Credits available for attendees

Many thanks to our Panel Sponsor CyberX, for providing us with this great venue and refreshments.

Thanks also go to our Global Sponsors KPMG, Waterfall Security, JumpStart Technology, Baker Donelson, Indegy, EY, Verve Systems, Airbus System 1, and Palo Alto Networks, for keeping the lights on and communication lines open connecting CS2AI groups worldwide.

Jim says: Manufacturing and process plants with the potential for harm to people, assets, or the environment, need to be protected against very real physical consequences generated from cyber-attack. The starting point for developing a program for cyber security is an assessment of the vulnerability of the process to cyber-attacks.

We will discuss how existing methods for risk analysis can be expanded with an additional "cyber review" called a Security Process Hazard Analysis Review (SPR) to determine if any cyber-attack vectors can cause significant damage and how we can make recommendations to reach the corporate risk tolerance.
