About us
The Sierra Club is the nation's oldest and largest grassroots environmental organization, with over 700,000 members nationwide. These individuals are using grassroots activism and community action to protect America's environment, for our families, for our future. We are part of the Florida Chapter of the National Sierra Club. Our group, the Central Florida Sierra Club, comprises over 2,100 members in Orange, Seminole, Lake and Osceola Counties. Our goal is to explore, enjoy, and protect the wild places of the earth. Join our meetup to learn about the outings we go on and events that we do.
You do not need to be a Sierra Club member to attend our meetings or outings, but if you love what we do we would love your support. You can join on our website www.CentralFloridaSierra.org. Also, visit us on Facebook to learn more about what we do. http://www.facebook.com/CentralFLSierraClub

Book Club: April Selection
Great Southern Box Company Food Hall, 2105 N Orange Blossom Trail,, Orlando, FL, USWe are thrilled to announce the return of the Sierra Club Book Club! After a successful book club kick-off last year, we are excited to re-engage with a fresh list of books and a new location!
In April, we will be reading A Psalm for the Wild-Built by Becky Chambers, a relatively short read that has been called "comfort science fiction." Join us for conversations about the book in a relaxed setting.
We encourage RSVPs so we can get an idea of seating needs. Book club discussion will run from 7:00–8:00 PM. The food hall closes at 8:00, so we will wrap up right around then. If you plan to purchase food or drinks, feel free to arrive between 6:30 and 7:00 PM.
About the Book Club Series
The selections for the 2026 series include a mix of fiction, non-fiction, and narrative works, spanning climate fiction, Florida-based stories, and environmental themes. Check out the other Meetup pages for upcoming book selections if this month's is not your thing!About the Location
The Great Southern Box Company, a food hall off Princeton, offering plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, free parking in a designated garage, and easy access off I-4. Several food and drink options are inside the food hall, so there is always something new to try! Food and drink purchases are encouraged but completely optional — we want to ensure participation doesn’t come with required costs. We will do our best to select seating appropriate for the ever-changing Florida weather!About Central Florida Sierra Club

Book Club: May Selection
Great Southern Box Company Food Hall, 2105 N Orange Blossom Trail,, Orlando, FL, USThe Sierra Club Central Florida Book Club Series continues with a blast from the past.
In May, we will be reading The Everglades: River of Glass by Marjory Stoneman Douglas. One of Florida's fiercest conservationists and a staunch defender of the Everglades, Marjory Stoneman Douglas published this seminal work in 1947 touting the importance of preserving the Florida Everglades. We highly recommend reading the 70th anniversary copy for an afterward by Michael Grunwald, who provides some context on what has occurred since the book's publication. Join us for conversations about the book in a relaxed setting.
