This is one of seven special events taking place in or near San Francisco this weekend, all offered by our spin-off social group Bay Area New Beginnings. Learn about them all here.
Everyone is welcome for this special event!
"Explore the secrets of our most valued emotion in this compelling global journey in search of what makes people happy. Combining real-life stories from around the world and powerful interviews with leading scientists in happiness research, this program leads us toward a deeper understanding of how our sense of happiness and well-being can be cultivated and even learned."

We're taking a break from our "Boundaries" series to view a documentary called "Happy." At 75 minutes, it's longer than our typical video, so we'll keep things informal and return to our normal small group structure next week.
★★★ This special event is one of seven events this weekend listed on the Meetup site for our partner group Bay Area New Beginnings. Learn about them all here.
In our meeting last Sunday, we heard a talk from Dr. Henry Cloud called "Inexpensive Happiness." You can view that video in its entirely here:
Next week (December 11) we will conclude our "Boundaries" video-book-discussion series with Drs. Henry Cloud and John Townsend. It's a life-changer you won't want to miss!
RECENT VIDEO SERIES FOR ONLINE VIEWING:
We recently completed the series "The Law of Happiness" with Dr. Henry Cloud. You can watch selected sessions of this series here.
All four sessions of the Andy Stanley series "Starting Over: So Next Time Won't Be Like Last Time" are also online for your review:
• Session 1: Three Myths of Starting Over
• Session 2: Own It
• Session 3: Rethink It
• Session 4: Release It
ABOUT OUR WEEKLY MEETINGS:
Our group meets on Sunday afternoons from 1:00 to 3:00 pm at Temple Baptist Church, directly in front of Stonestown Galleria on 19th Avenue in San Francisco. You're also invited to a sliding-scale (free or pay what you can) lunch and social time at the church starting at 12:15 pm each Sunday.
Our location ▲
After a brief introduction, we see a video (or at other times of the year, hear from a live speaker) until about 2:00. Then, after an overview of our program and some introductions and announcements, we take a short break and go into smaller groups at about 2:15 for the remainder of the meeting. We have a special group for newcomers and visitors, along with sharing/support groups for people who have attended before.
We welcome anyone and everyone dealing with relationship challenges, separation or divorce, whether happening now, in the past, or perhaps approaching. People of any faith background, or without one, are welcome.
ABOUT OUR MEETUP GROUP:
There are no fees or membership requirements for this program. You do not have to have a Meetup account to attend. If you do have a free Meetup account and join our Meetup group, you'll get automatic reminder messages about our meetings and other news you may need. It would be great if you'd click "Yes" if you're coming to this and future meetings. That makes our group more visible on Meetup, and encourages others to come.
BAY AREA NEW BEGINNINGS:
You may be interested in this separate but related Meetup group, open to all current and past participants in Bay Area Divorce and Relationship Recovery groups. It's about fun, social events with other emotionally healthy (or at least healing) people. Learn more about Bay Area New Beginnings.
DIVORCE AND RELATIONSHIP RECOVERY NETWORK:
This group and others like it are backed by the non-profit Divorce and Relationship Recovery Network, which is also working to establish and support more much-needed Divorce and Relationship Recovery programs. Besides this group, we offer groups in Menlo Park, Burlingame, Los Gatos, Castro Valley, and Lubbock, Texas.
We do not charge for our meetings, but donations to our cause are greatly appreciated. You can set up online gifts, either one-time or recurring, to support this work. Join the mailing list (separate from this Meetup group) to stay informed.
