What we're about

The Denver Tarot Geeks are intermediate to advanced tarot readers dedicated to the study of esotericism including tarot, qabalah, magic, and astrology for personal and spiritual growth. If you already have basic tarot knowledge and are ready to learn advanced symbolism, you are welcome to join us!
This group is for those who already have strong tarot and astrology skills. If you are still learning, please check out my other group, the Denver Tarot Meetup Group. It's for readers of all levels and the tarot curious and offers a variety of meetings every month. DTM is an open group that hosts tarot events for all levels from beginner to advanced.

Tree of Life: The Astral Triad

Location visible to members

$3.00

Over a century ago, a burgeoning magical society called the Golden Dawn began connecting the dots between the tarot and the centuries-old spiritual philosophy known as Hermetic Qabalah. The results took the 78 cards beyond divination into a pictorial map of cosmology, the human soul, ceremonial magic and many other applications.

In this 10-month series, we will be taking a comprehensive and integrated approach to the cards’ correspondences with the Qabala’s primary glyph, Tree of Life, exploring its concepts, how the cards reflect these concepts, and the interconnected network they create. Each session will focus on a particular subsection of the Tree and the cards associated with them.

This month we will covering the sephiroth comprising the Astral Triad: Netzach, Hod & Yesod, respectively symbolized by the Sevens, Eights, and Nines of the Minor Arcana.

The material is of an intermediate to advanced level, so participants would be expected to have a basic knowledge of tarot. You can use any deck you like, although we recommend a deck following a Golden Dawn or Thelemic tradition for the most relevant symbolism. We also recommend some reading material to get the most out of the discussion. Some of our recommendations include:

The Qabalistic Tarot: A Textbook of Mystical Philosophy by Robert Wang
Paths of Wisdom: A Guide to the Magical Cabala by John Michael Greer
The Tarot: A Key to the Wisdom of the Ages by Paul Foster Case
A Practical Guide to Qabalistic Symbolism by Gareth Knight
The Chicken Qabalah of Rabbi Lamed Ben Clifford by Lon Milo DuQuette
The Mystical Qabalah by Dion Fortune

This series is donation based, which supports Tarot Geeks and allows us to continue providing informative and inspiring events throughout the year. $3-5 donations can either be made in cash or via PayPal to [masked] . Be sure to select the “Send to a Friend” option to avoid service fees.

[ONLINE] Cube of Space: The Placement of the Major and Minor Arcana

Denver Tarot Geeks, in association with the Greater Seattle Tarot Meetup, continue our fascinating exploration of the Cube of Space as it relates to the tarot, and their dual application as a map for spiritual progress. In this new series, we will be focusing on the extensive work by Kevin Townley on the subject.

While our previous series followed the linear initiatory model outlined by David Allen Hulse, Townley’s journey around the Cube progresses holistically, building up from the inside into an interconnected whole. Tracing its development from Sepher Yetzirah, sacred geometry, numerology, gematria and ceremonial magic, a cubic matrix is formed that incorporates not only the Major Arcana, but the whole of the tarot.

Our primary text for the series will be The Cube of Space: Container of Creation by Kevin Townley (https://kevintownley.com/?product_cat=books-by-kevin-townley)

We will progress chapter by chapter as we pick apart the dense statistics of Townley’s structure, every first Saturday of each month:

June 4th - Chapter Four: The Placement of the Major and Minor Arcana
July 2nd - Chapter Five: The 27 Cubic Units
August 6th - Chapter Six: The Message of the Chaldean Order
September 3rd - Chapter Seven: Chaldean Order Part II
October 1st - Conclusion & Beyond

We will endeavor to view the Cube and the tarot from a different angle, using study, discussion, meditation and personal practice, to create a deeper dimension to our spiritual progress.

We will also be drawing from the following additional sources:
The Sepher Yetzirah, trans. Aryeh Kaplan (https://redwheelweiser.com/detail.html?id=9780877288558)
The Tarot, A Key to the Wisdom of the Ages by Paul Foster Case (http://store.bota.org/1003.html)
New Dimensions for the Cube of Space by David Allen Hulse (https://www.amazon.com/New-Dimensions-Cube-Space-Initiation-ebook/dp/B003CFAZXC/ref=tmm_kin_swatch_0?)

This is a free two-hour workshop, from 9:30am-11:30am Pacific time. 10:30-12:30pm Mountain, 11:30am-1:30pm Central, 12:30-2:30 Eastern, and 5:30pm-7:30 pm London time.
