Redbox/Netflix Night is BACK! And, now, on my new 60" screen!
A kind-hearted street urchin and a power-hungry Grand Vizier vie for a magic lamp that has the power to make their deepest wishes come true.
Director: Guy Ritchie
Writers: John August (screenplay by), Guy Ritchie (screenplay by)
Stars: Will Smith, Mena Massoud, Naomi Scott
The movie will start no later than 15 minutes after we come upstairs from the lobby, so don't be late and expect us to wait.
Hopefully every other week we'll see a different movie. Some other potentials are The Notebook (2004) (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0332280/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1), Young Frankenstein (1974) (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0072431/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1), The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou (2004) (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0362270/?ref_=nv_sr_1), Bad Santa (2003) (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0307987/?ref_=nv_sr_2), The Big Short (2015) (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3691740/?ref_=nv_sr_1), and any new releases or classics on Netflix. If you have a movie that you'd like to show, let me know what it is, and we'll see about scheduling it. Other options include first episodes of series, like House of Cards (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1856010/?ref_=nv_sr_1), Sherlock (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1475582/?ref_=nv_sr_1), and Dexter (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0773262/?ref_=nv_sr_1).
FOOD: People are welcome to bring food, dinner, snacks, ice cream, whatever they want. Bring for yourself, or bring for everyone. I may order pizza for delivery near the end of the movie and sell it by the slice. Everyone is welcome to stay after the movie for dinner and the next movie!
I now have a kitty at my place, so if you're allergic, please be forewarned!
RSVP: PLEASE keep your RSVP up to date. No need for explanations if your plans change. Just update your RSVP. If your plans change after the event has started, just post a comment that you're not coming. Thanks!
MBTA: My place is two blocks south of the Charles/MGH Red Line station. Come out the main station entrance and turn left. Cross the double-street (with CVS just on your left), head two blocks south on Charles St, then turn right onto Pinckney St. At 145 Pinckney you'll see a glass entranceway. Come on in!
PARKING: My street is a stone's throw from Charles St, which is all metered parking. On Sundays the meters do not need to be fed. However, this is still Boston, so coming by the MBTA is always recommended.
BREAK/INTERMISSION: There may be a quick break in the middle of the movie.
