Free Dragonboat Lessons Meetup
Free Dragon Boat Lessons - Every Saturday at 10:30am. We provide life jackets, experienced coaches, excellent steerspeople, and flat water. In 15 yrs, we have not had a single flipping. We use this meetup as a source for recruiting for our competitive dragonboat team. We would like paddlers to try out our lessons 3-4 times before deciding if you would like to join our team! How long will it be? We usually end around noon. What to Wear - Comfortable clothing that you do not mind getting wet. This is in case you splash yourself. Things we recommend you to bring: 1) Sunscreen as UV is higher on the water 2) Water to keep yourself hydrated 3) A Towel - to dry off after in case you splash yourself while on the boat I've attached a map of the boat dock area. Please come join us at the picnic tables in the rear of the boat dock! There are lots of attendees that are not on this meetup. Do not worry about a low turnout. See you there. If you are interested in carpooling, please use the comments below to organize. We are within an easy bike ride of Hillsdale Caltrain station. Waiver ( Intro Video:

What we're about

The Bay Area Dragons, a competitive dragon boat racing team offers free dragon boat lessons every Saturday at 10:30 AM in Foster City.

What is Dragon Boating? A team of 22 people with 20 paddlers, a drummer and a steersperson paddling in unison in a long canoe-like boat. Dragon Boat races are usually 2-3 minute sprints.

Who are the Bay Area Dragons? We're one of the oldest and first dragon boat clubs in the SF Bay Area and love introducing the sport to people who have never paddled in their life before!

Not sure if you will like it? We'd love you to join us for a Saturday morning practice! Try it out and see for yourself why so many people have fallen in love with this sport! Plus you get to meet new friends while keeping active!
