What we’re about
You don't need your own dog but you probably need to like them! We are a people and dog-friendly group, typically taking a 2-3 hour walk with 25-30 people (and 25-30 dogs!) every other weekend in Gloucestershire or nearby. We also have evening walks in the summer, activities like canoeing and weekends away.
Gloucestershire Walking with Dogs is run as a voluntary, amateur social group (your Meetup membership terms include a release of liability for group organisers). Think of it as joining a group of friends for a walk, where you are responsible for the safety and actions of yourself and your dogs.
Like any responsible walker, we expect everyone to close gates, put dogs on leads around livestock, and take other reasonable steps to stay safe and be courteous to landowners and other users of the areas we visit.
We ask regular walkers to make a suggested donation of £10 a year to cover our Meetup subscription costs of around £200 a year, with any extra going to charity. Ask Ben for bank transfer details or pay by card (one-off or monthly) here:

Brimpsfield 5 miles ish
Lay-by At Gloucester Beeches Off The A417, just south of turning to Brimpsfield, Brimpsfield, GBCircular walk of around 5 miles through Brimpsfield and Syde in woods, fields and villages, mostly offlead. Will be muddy!
Meet at Gloucester Beeches/Grannys Pumps (!) layby on the A417 southbound, map pin below or use:

It's a bit tricky as it's on one side of the A417. If you're heading south (towards Glos/Chelt), go past the Highway Inn & Elkstone junction, then it's the next layby on the left. If you're heading north (towards Ciren/Swindon), you'll need to come off at Elkstone and follow the signs back to A417 Gloucester to get on the other side, then take the next layby off.
As a few of us want lunch, I think the Royal George in Birdlip would be best after. You can't book there so hopefully we can get a few tables.
I'm on 07968 211023 signal permitting if you're lost or late!
