What we're about

You don't need your own dog but you probably need to like them! We are a people and dog-friendly group, typically taking a 2-3 hour walk with 25-30 people (and 25-30 dogs!) every other weekend in Gloucestershire or nearby. We also have evening walks in the summer, activities like canoeing and weekends away.

Gloucestershire Walking with Dogs is run as a voluntary, amateur social group (your Meetup membership terms (https://www.meetup.com/terms/) include a release of liability for group organisers). Think of it as joining a group of friends for a walk, where you are responsible for the safety and actions of yourself and your dogs.

Like any responsible walker, we expect everyone to close gates, put dogs on leads around livestock, and take other reasonable steps to stay safe and be courteous to landowners and other users of the areas we visit.

We ask for 50p on walks towards the Meetup subscription fee, with any remaining money kept in a kitty for other group activities (organisers do not receive any income or reimbursement of costs). If paid activities are organised, these are charged at the cost of the third party without markup.

Please get in touch with any questions via the site or call Ben on 07968 211023.

Gower camping/walking weekend

Three Cliffs Bay Holiday Park

It's Gower time! I'm booked Friday 5th to Monday 8th July but feel free to come for fewer nights or even for the day. The plan is: Friday - arrive when you can, barbecue Saturday - 3 miles inland walk to the King Arthur Hotel for lunch, walk back, probably afternoon on the beach and barbecue Sunday - about 6 mile walk down to the beach and over the cliff to Southgate ending at the Gower Inn for Sunday lunch, then about 1 mile walk back to the site We're outside for both lunches and can't book ahead so fingers crossed for sun! Please book directly via the link below - choose a non-electric pitch so we can camp together, and mention Ben Jeffery, booking ref #55808 or the dog walking group in the notes (there are also options for glamping and dog-free cottages). https://threecliffsbay.com/book This is a stunning location with a beautiful dog-friendly beach a few minutes walk away, and lots of local walk and pub options. The campsite is very well equipped with an on-site shop and really nice individual bathrooms. I will confirm walk/pub plans nearer the time. The site has a strict policy of dogs on leads at all times which we need to follow, although there is a walking area nearby where you can let them off, and of course the beach! Sandford Park lido dog swim

Sandford Parks Lido Cafe

Join hundreds of dogs in Sandford Parks lido for a chaotic and wet day! You can book different entry times but I would recommend 11am to make sure we can meet up.
