Humanist Program: The UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights

Details
NOTE: we will be meeting at a new location this month, the Parsons Avenue branch of the Columbus Metropolitan Library.
The Humanist Monthly Program is our longest running event and still a community favorite. In the old days it used to be called "Going to HCCO" and we still like to think of it as our flagship event.
Join us each and every second Saturday for free pizza, fruit, beverages and enlightening presentations. The refreshments start flowing at 11:30am and the presentation starts at 12 noon.
This month, HCCO board member Catherine Carney will give a presentation on the United Nations' Universal Declaration of Human Rights, adopted in December 1948 in the aftermath of World War 2. After a short summary of the 31 rights, we will have a group discussion of how the UDHR relates to humanism, whether all the rights are applicable to the current era, and what, if anything, we as humanists feel needs to be addressed both in the philosophy of inalienable human rights and in their application in the United States.
