Led by our own Jim Husen and his associate, Laura Desoto, this engaging and transformative discussion group will explore the fascinating intersection of ego and the Enneagram. Together, we’ll delve into how this modern synthesis of older traditions and psychological insights personality framework can help us uncover the hidden motivations and fears that shape our identities, behaviors, and interactions.
Through open dialogue, reflective exercises, and group insights, we’ll:
- Identify the core patterns and traits of each Enneagram type.
- Explore how the ego influences our perceptions and relationships.
- Discuss strategies for transcending ego-driven reactions to live more authentically.
This meetup is open to anyone curious about personal growth, whether you’re new to the Enneagram or a seasoned enthusiast. Expect a welcoming, nonjudgmental space where we can share experiences, learn from one another, and gain tools to foster self-awareness and deeper connections.
Bring your curiosity, willingness to reflect, and desire to grow!
Let’s explore the pathways to greater self-understanding and compassion—together!
#####
While the Enneagram's symbol and philosophical roots have ancient origins, its modern framework as a personality typology is largely a 20th-century creation. It blends timeless spiritual traditions with contemporary psychology, making it a powerful tool for personal growth and self-awareness.
The Skeptics Forum of IEAAH/FAR is again hosting a discussion group, modeled on the European Salons of the 18th century. We will engage in respectful, intelligent conversations on various topics to be posted each month. Side conversations are discouraged during group. This is a fun, social platform for deep, elevated talk. WE HAVE NOW MOVED TO THE ARLINGTON LIBRARY COMMUNITY ROOM.
