Our resident belly dancer Shiori is performing this Thursday night at Marrakesh, a Moroccan spot in Belltown.

While this location goes a tiny bit above our usual target price range, it's a good deal for a multicourse meal that includes bread, soup, a sweet flaky pastry traditionally made with mincemeat but also available vegetarian, various entrees, a mint tea and dessert, plus Shiori's dance routines. The price is $28/person including tax/tip, and you can order wine or beer for an additional charge if you're so inclined.

Don't worry, there will be plenty of time to chat in Japanese, as the dance routines don't last the whole night. Feel free to bring a friend.

Kids are welcome, and younger ones aren't charged for the meal (I can't remember the age threshold but it's probably somewhere around 10). We'll come with Kojiro and Shidou.

Please bring plenty of cash to simplify settling the bill.

I need to give the staff instructions for special dietary needs, so please make a note if you're vegetarian or have other unusual requirements; the vegetarian adjustment will affect how much they make of certain things, so please comment below or email me to let me know.

I'm planning to stop in at Rob Roy for happy hour and I should arrive by 6pm or so. Rob Roy is basically right next door. Feel free to come and join me for a nifty cocktail.

Nijikai could be anywhere, but nearby cheap options include Buckley's, Shorty's, the Rendezvous or who knows where.
