Piernicola, as Italian teacher, offers, talking in Italian language of intermediate level, a free lecture on MICHELANGELO, that is part of his "ITALIAN ART HISTORY COURSE" (CORSO DI STORIA DELL'ARTE ITALIANA) which he teaches in a private school of Mission Viejo. The Course is a wonderful journey into the most important Italian art, from Roman period to seventeenth century, through the Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque.

The Course is in Italian language of intermediate and advanced level.
The Course will be composed of 12 classes of 90 minutes each,
divided in three Sections.
Program of the Italian Art History Course
First Section: From Roman art to the Gothic
Roman Art. Architecture: Pantheon, Arch of Constantine, Coliseum, Baths of Caracalla. Sculpture: Trajan's column, Ara Pacis, Statue of Marco Aurelio.
Byzantine and Romanic Art. Architecture: Basilica of St. Mark in Venice, Mosaics of Ravenna, Saint Ambrose in Milan, Piazza dei Miracoli in Pisa, Cathedral of Pisa and the Tower of Pisa.
Gothic Art. Architecture: Doge's Palace in Venice, Baptistery of Florence, Giotto's Tower, Duomo e Piazza del Campo in Siena, etc.. Painting: Cimabue, Giotto. Sculpture: Nicola Pisano.
Second Section: Art of 1.400 and Renaissance
Art of the 1.400. Architecture: Santa Maria del Fiore in Florence Brunelleschi, Santa Maria del Fiore Dome, Basilica of Santa Croce in Florence, Spedale degli innocenti, etc.. Painting: Masaccio, Piero della Francesca, Botticelli, Andrea Mantegna. Sculpture: Donatello, Luca della Robbia, Andrea della Robbia.
Renaissance. Architecture: Michelangelo, Sagrestia Nuova, Biblioteca Lautrenziana, Bramante, Basilica of St. Peter in Rome, Palladio, Basilica of Vicenza, etc.. Sculpture: Michelangelo, David, the Pietà, Moses, etc..Painting: Michelangelo, Sistine Chapel, Leonardo, Last Supper, Mona Lisa, etc..Raffaello architect and painter.
Third Section: Art of 1.600 and 1.700
The Baroque. Architecture: Bernini, St. Peter's Square in Rome, Basilica della Salute in Venice, Borromini. Painting: Guido Reni, Caravaggio. Sculpture: Bernini.
The 1.700. Architecture, the Fountain of Trevi in Rome, Piazza di Spagna in Rome, the Royal Palace of Caserta. Painting: Canaletto, Tiepolo. Sculpture: Antonio Canova.
