South Florida Fair Photo Extravaganza!

Yesteryear Village

Join us at the South Florida Fair Grounds for our annual meetup at the South Florida Fair - tons of 'people' shots, great ferris wheel shots, find the fun rides to photograph or take. This is a late day and early evening photo-opportunity bonanza which gives you a chance for daytime shots and for exquisite night shots when everything is lighted up - AND if we're lucky - a great sunset shot. Meet at Yesteryear Village Entrance Enter Gate 3 to Archway Gate. 4:00 PM. Irene Hill will be there to greet you. Bring your camera with a fully charged battery, a couple of memory cards, and some cash in case you want to partake of some of the Fair goodies. Don't bring any extra clothing or equipment or bags. Just enough to keep track of all the time! You can get discount tickets in advance at Publix no later than Jan. 16 GIVE YOURSELF PLENTY OF TIME TO PARK - THE FAIR IS VERY POPULAR! ADMISSION Adult (12 & up): $10.00 in advance; at gate will be $15.00 Monday - Fridays and $20 on Saturdays and Sundays Child (6-11): $5.00 in advance; at gate will be $8.00 Senior (60+): $7.00 in advance; at gate will be $9.00 For anyone who has never been to our county’s biggest annual event with their camera, let us entice you with just some of the fun things to shoot. Besides all the typical fare at the fair, there are rows and rows of amusements, sky rides, "The Jail House Gun Fight" , Pig Racing, Alligator Shows. Magic Shows, Concerts and Live Bands, Ice Skating, Parades and so much much more !!! Also of interest are the Petting Zoo, Pony Rides. Be sure to catch the evening’s crowning glory (photographically speaking) after dark with the bright whirling and spinning Midway rides. Sunset is at 5:54 pm. One can also spend hours in Yesteryear Village where, when you walk in, you are transported to a different time. A time when schools were located in one small building and houses did not have running water; a time when people had goats, chickens, and sheep in their backyards; a time when life was simple. There are reenactments during the day and evening. Don't miss this opportunity as Yesteryear Village is only open during selected times of the year. Parking: There is ample free parking at the fair grounds. There are ‘preferred’ parking lots available for $20 on weekends but there are also free lots to the north and east of the grounds with regularly scheduled complimentary tram rides to the ticketing booths.
