What we're about

Life is too short not to meet NEW people, do something DIFFERENT and have FUN . This group will expose you to so many things you may never even knew existed. The best part is that this group holds interesting things for singles, couples, all age ranges, first timers, or the experienced who seeks to do it again.

Don't worry about coming out alone, that's what most people do... We'll make sure that you have an opportunity to socialize and hopefully go home meeting tons of people and even make a few friends.

NYAC: Tour, Tasting, & Egg Cream Reception @ NYC's Last Seltzer Factory (PrePay)

Tickets: $29 - 32 Click the link below to register for this event: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/tour-tasting-egg-cream-reception-nycs-last-seltzer-factory-registration-53257142547 While reaching a consensus on New York's best pizza slice or cocktail lounge might prove impossible, deciding on the best fizzy water is a fact that can't even be argued — that's because there's only one seltzer company left in NYC that has the equipment to produce gold-standard carbonated water (warning: once you taste the good stuff for yourself, store-bought seltzer will forever be a disappointment). Join New York Adventure Club (https://www.nyadventureclub.com/) for an exclusive tour and tasting inside Brooklyn Seltzer Boy (https://www.brooklynseltzerboys.com/), a fourth generation family-owned business in Carnarsie, Brooklyn, that has been hand-filling seltzer bottles and delivering them to customers’ doorsteps for over fifty years. Led by Alex Gomberg, Vice President of Brooklyn Seltzer Boys, our unique experience at the last seltzer factory in New York will include: • An overview of the seltzer industry, from its rise and fall, to its recent resurgence • The history of Brooklyn Seltzer Boys, formerly known as Gomberg Seltzer Works Inc., which has been filling seltzer bottles since 1953 • A private tour through the 65-year-old seltzer factory, which still uses century-old machines capable of filtering and carbonating city tap water with 60 pounds-per-square-inch of carbon dioxide • A closer look at the seltzer bottle refilling process, from equipment demonstrations to the maintenance of hand-blown siphon bottles from Czechoslovakia and Austria dating back to the 1800s • A taste test between store-bought fizzy water and artisanal seltzer from the factory line Afterward, Brooklyn Seltzer Boys will whip up some of their award-winning egg creams, which strike the perfect balance between milk, Fox’s U-bet chocolate syrup, and the best seltzer on the market! Click here to watch a short documentary on Brooklyn Seltzer Boys! (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nMGuse99Xro) Click here to see pictures from one of our last visits to Brooklyn Seltzer Boys! (https://nyadventureclub.com/gallery/28941359) See you there! Transportation: By Subway: Take an L train to Rockaway Parkway Station (the last stop) — Brooklyn Seltzer Boys is a 10-15 minute walk from the station. It is a fun and casual way to meet others in our group who are from your generation. We have chosen The Playwright Irish Pub on 35th because they offer a delicious and diverse menu (MENU LINK) as well as a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. Here is how it works: Arrive at The Playwright between 6:30-7pm for cocktails and socializing at the bar. At 7pm the group will be randomly seated at a table (or tables depending on the size of the group) to continue conversations and to order food. It will be about 15-20 minute before all the orders come out so you have a nice chance to chat with those around you. Just before the food comes out you will pull a number out of a hat and everyone will switch seats so that you are surrounded by all new people! At the end of the meal everyone gets separate checks so you pay only for what you ordered. Can I come alone? Yes, most f the people will come alone but you are welcome to invite a friend or two. Dress code: business casual Age restrictions: This event is for people 50+ years old. If you are 49 and feel more comfortable socializing with the older group no worries but we ask that no one under 49 register. Can I come for just drinks and not the dinner? No Cost: $10 in advance goes to pay for your hosts dinner for that night. You will be responsible for whatever you order that night.
