HIKE: JONES BRIDGE

Details

The weather is chilling down and the days are getting shorter so I'm bringing back this afternoon hike for those of you fortunate to not be working. I may rotate with island Ford and Vickery Creek and others if encouraged.

We'll cover 5+ miles in 2 hours. This is a beginner/intermediate hike. A couple of baby hills and a few steps but otherwise flat along the Chattahoochee River but I'd like to go at a moderate pace. It is not a run.

You can find a copy of the trail map here:

http://www.nps.gov/chat/planyourvisit/upload/TrailMapJones.pdf

We'll start with the little loop to see the old Jones Bridge and then walk along the water, loop back around the field and retrace our steps to get back to the car.

We'll meet in the parking lot at the very end of the entrance road. Restrooms are available here. Please remove all valuables visible in your vehicles because there have been acts of vandalism. There are 2 entrances to Jones Bridge coming from Holcomb Bridge. The first is the environmental center....don't turn here. Go to the next one.

Dogs are welcome, but in accordance with park rules, they MUST be on a leash.

Please bring water and your $3 for the parking if you don't have a CRNA pass.

This event will be cancelled if it is raining heavily
