Marcus and I are putting together a Science forum for our group. Our first speaker will be Dr Ben Rich.
Dr Rich is the UC Davis School of Medicine Alumni Association Endowed Chair of Bioethics. He is an attorney with a doctoral degree in philosophy. He has substantial experience in both private practice and as a legal counsel for several leading academic medical centers. His special interests include the legal and ethical aspects of the physician-patient relationship, end-of-life care and pain management. He received the Mayday Scholar's Award and the University of Colorado President's Fund for the Humanities Award. Dr. Rich is working to further develop the UC Davis Bioethics Program and its training of medical staff, students and other professionals.

He will have a presentation on
"Conflicts at the Margins of Life: Secular Bioethics and Religious Conservatives."
He will also lead a discussion after the talk. Please try to make it to this meeting and you are also welcome to bring questions.
