Donald Trump seems to have won the recent US presidential election, but there are many issues with this:

  1. He did not win the popular vote. Technically this doesn't matter, but he is proposing a sweeping agenda and he does not seem to have the support of the majority of Americans to enact his agenda.

  2. He has made many incendiary statements that show disdain for women, Mexicans, Muslims, the disabled, etc. yet he will be the leader of all people in this country if he takes office.

  3. He is facing trails and investigations for alleged illegal activity.

  4. Many have argued that Donald Trump seems to have an unstable temperament and an unsound mind and that therefore he would be a danger to global stability if he were given the levers of power.

  5. There are major protests going on throughout the US, where the protesters seem to be motivated by these and other issues with Donald Trump's character, past actions, and agenda for the future.

  6. The presidential elections in each state were technically only to choose which set of electors to send to the electoral college. Now we know who the electors are, and Trump supporters have a majority, but they have not voted yet and they are actually free to vote for whoever they wish.

So what to do about Donald Trump? Should we go along with the rules and let him assume the presidency? Should we put him on trial for the crimes he is accused of? Should we protest? Should we let it go?

For this event, we're going to need to try to set aside any mention of Hilary Clinton. Perhaps if she had won a majority of the electoral college, we would be talking about what to do about her, but that is not where we are. She essentially lots. But can we justifiably say that anyone really won the election?
