East Bay Walk #11 Terrace View Park
We extended our coverage to East Bay and we are exploring the routes from this book: "Secret Stairs: East Bay: A Walking Guide to the Historic Staircases of Berkeley and Oakland" Walk #11 is a strenuous walk that offers the great views in the Berkeley hills. From the chapter: "Be amazed. Go faint with delight. Then take 16 more steps down, find a redwood bench, and try to recover. This may not be Berkeley’s best view, but it’s certainly its biggest." The meeting point is accessible buses #65 and #67 ________ • Important to know Be advised, due to the nature of this area, we may be traversing up steep inclines and staircases. Although we move at a slow pace, this walk may be strenuous at times. The meetup may be postponed on a short notice due to rain, low visibility, poor air quality, etc. • Liability Waiver All participants agree to assume 100% responsibility for their own safety, conduct, and well-being and recognize that possible hazards exist while participating in outdoor (or any other) activities, and agree to participate solely at their own risk. If you join this group, and if you RSVP “Yes” and/or attend any of our events, it shall be conclusively presumed you understand and agree to this policy.

    What we're about

Exploring San Francisco through our cameras, one stairway at a time. The walks are featured in Stairway Walks in San Francisco by Adah Bakalinsky. What better way to appreciate unknown paths and stairways than to photograph them? :)

The hikes will run around 3 hours long depending on how often we stop. We'll follow the path outlined in the book and talk about photography. All hikes will have hills or stairways, so make sure you are dressed to get sweaty and for long walks! You can join us for the whole hike, leave early, or join somewhere along the way.

Photographers of all experiences are welcome. Don't have a DSLR? Just bring your phone.

The purpose of this meetup, besides getting some exercise and some sweet pics, is to foster more conversations about being a photographer. I want this to be a safe space where photographers of all levels can ask questions about photography, and want to learn more about photography even if you have been shooting for years. For those who have a photography business, this is a group where you can talk about any challenges you are facing and get advice from others.
