Happy New Year's Day Hike
Welcome the New Year by exploring the parks of upper Manhattan. Visit Bennett, Fort Tryon, Inwood Hill and Highbridge parks. See hills, great wild parks, historical sites, and the Harlem River. Hike ends at 155th Street and St. Nicholas Avenue, by the C train. About 7 miles and 3 to 4 hours. Optional extension south through Jackie Robinson and St. Nicholas parks to 125th Street. About 2 miles. MEET: 12 noon at the George Washington Bridge Bus Station, second floor waiting room, enter via elevator on Broadway between 178th street and 179th street or on Fort Washington Avenue between 178th street and 179th street. Shorewalkers will investigate any reports of inappropriate behavior and take necessary action.
