Together they form a seamless weave of insights and practices applicable in the yoga studio, therapy room, or the rush of everyday life. Mariana Caplan has taught along-side the founder of Somatic Experiencing, Dr. Peter Levine, to integrate the two modalities of yoga and trauma work, and developed innovative psychology programs as a university professor. A practicing psychotherapist, yoga teacher, and celebrated author, Dr. Caplan brings her expertise and wisdom to the Phoenix area to offer an opportunity for this integrative training. Learning to work with embodied awareness through yoga, Somatic Experiencing®, mindfulness, and depth psychology can support the processing of difficult mind-states and emotions, heal trauma, and cultivate resilience. Participants in this training will: ​Learn to use yoga practice to deepen your own psychological inquiry and healing Discover how to bring core practices of Somatic Experiencing® into yoga practice and teaching in order to receive and offer deeper psycho-somatic benefits Explore the emotional level of asana and how to utilize yoga practice to process trauma Learn to use yoga practices to enhance therapeutic work with clients Integrate core practices of Somatic Experiencing® including resourcing, titration, and pendulation Explore the healing intersection of mindfulness and compassion practices with somatic work Investigate philosophies of spiritual practice in relation to body and mind This program is accessible for all levels; non-professionals and those new to these practices, as well as for seasoned professionals. If you are interested in learning how to work with your own emotional states in the context of yoga and movement practices; for yoga teachers interested in working more safely and effectively with students on the level of psyche; and for health professionals wishing to integrate these principles into their therapeutic work. ABOUT MARIANA: Mariana Caplan, PhD, MFT, SEP, E-RYT 500, is a psychotherapist, yoga teacher, and author of eight books in the fields of psychology, spirituality, and yoga. This group is a great resource for those interested in learning more about mindfulness and hearing about upcoming classes and workshops offered throughout the Greater Phoenix area. Programs have been offered in Phoenix, Scottsdale, Paradise Valley and the South-East Valley area (Tempe, Gilbert, etc).

Solution Mindfulness offers education, instruction and guidance in mindfulness meditation, mindful movement and daily life mindfulness practices for well-being, emotional balance and stress-reduction, and through evidence-based programs for physical and emotional challenges such as chronic pain and illness, depression, anxiety, sleep disorders, etc.

Offering the original 8-week Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program as designed by Jon Kabat-Zinn, PhD, as well as introductory classes, mindful movement classes and workshops.

Continuing Education for Psychologists and Masters Level Counselors, Therapists, Social Workers available.
