Bringing together people in northeast Ohio who are interested building homes for excellent energy efficiency, comfort, air quality, and sustainability. We include construction professionals as well as homeowners and people thinking about becoming homeowners. We don't have a consistent schedule just yet, but meet at various locations so we can have events that are convenient for people across the region. We will network with each other to share successes, challenges, and strategies to take the quality of home construction in our region to the next level. Programming may include roundtable discussions, mini-presentations by members, more in-depth presentations by experts, field trips to green projects, and just getting together to talk.
Financing is an important aspect of most new home projects, and appraisals are key in getting a loan. Learn which sustainable features have the most impact on the value of a new home, and which add value to you and the planet, but not the bank. Tracy Reiss of Rubber City Appraisal Studio, Certified General Appraiser and LEED AP, and homeowner Michael Cryder will share the challenges and successes in the appraisal of the Cryder's sustainably designed new home. Stay tuned for an "in person" tour of the Cryder's house under construction in late May or early June!
