Raising Backyard Chickens Workshop with Demetra Tseckares

Ever wonder what it takes to raise a flock of your own? With a little planning and preparation, you could be collecting your own eggs daily. Experienced gardener and chicken owner Demetra Tseckares hosts this workshop teaching the fundamental aspects of raising backyard chickens. The program will include discussion of the chicken life cycle, ideal breeds for laying, how and when to purchase birds, diet and care, coop and pen considerations, and troubleshooting (including predator and health issues). Children ages 8 and up may be registered to attend with an adult! Tuition is $10 per person. Workshop is hosted by Wright-Locke Farm. Registration via www.WLFarm.org is REQUIRED.
