VSDC Book Club discusses How to Create a Vegan World
Please join the Vegetarian Society of DC Book Club (http://www.vsdc.org/book.html) discussion of How to Create a Vegan World: A Pragmatic Approach by Tobias Leenaert (http://veganstrategist.org/over/). “With research supporting his position, the author contends that in valuing both small changes and sweeping ones, we can build, rather than bulldoze, our way to a compassionate and sustainable world.” —Victoria Moran, author, Main Street Vegan To participate read at least half the book -- and RSVP at least two days before the meeting. This meeting takes place at the Falls Church (Seven Corners) location of Sunflower Vegetarian Restaurant, near the intersection of Routes 50 and 7 (not the Vienna location). Sunflower serves all vegetarian (mostly vegan) Chinese and Japanese cuisine. Look for us in the private room. http://crystalsunflower.com/location/falls-church/ The VSDC Book Club reads fiction and nonfiction in alternating months, about any topic. For more information (including everything we have read over 26 years!) visit http://www.vsdc.org/book.html or contact Beth ( http://www.meetup.com/vegan-28/message/?recipientId=1642817 ) through meet up. Be considerate...if your plans change, PLEASE update your RSVP! Better to make a late change than to be a no-show.

What we're about

Public Group

The Washington DC Area Vegan Meetup Group

Engage with other vegans (and those aspiring) in the DC metropolitan area. Share ideas/thoughts on being or going vegan including recipes, vegan products, activities, restaurants, related topics, its philosophy, or simply make friends who share your interests.

The group is sponsored by the Veg Society of DC (VSDC, http://www.vsdc.org ), who provides the enabling structure and pays the regular Meetup fee so that individual members of the group do not have to pay anything. A number of the group's activities will be organized by VSDC (whose events are always planned vegan).

Activities will be community-building to support those already on the path to an all-plant vegan diet, as well as educational, to provide people with the information and insight to take the next step or become more involved. As part of VSDC's philosophy for positive encouragement and inclusiveness, everyone is welcome to attend, regardless of background and where they are on the path to a vegan diet and lifestyle.

All events will be vegan.
