- VSDC Virtual Game Night: Fishbowl
Join us for a VSDC remote game night featuring Fishbowl. Fishbowl is a fun and fast-paced virtual guessing game mash up.
Note: This game is best played on a desktop or laptop computer. The game room will be opened at 7:50 pm for those who need a little extra time getting set up and then locked at 8:10 pm, so please be on time.
Here's how to play: After everyone navigates over to the website, https://fishbowl-game.com/, and puts in the code to join the game, players are asked to write down a few words or phrases on "cards" that will be guessed later. Players are organized into teams and will alternate turns, giving clues to their teammates to guess as many cards as possible against the clock. The 3 rounds feature:
Taboo: Use words to describe the word or phrase on the card, without any acting or gestures. You cannot use any part of the word or phrase!
Charades: Without words or sounds, act and use gestures to communicate the word or phrase on the card.
Password: You can say exactly one word to describe the word or phrase on the card, no more! You'll rely on your team's memory and association.
The team that guesses the most cards across all rounds wins!
Don’t worry if you’ve never played Fishbowl. All are welcome and we'll go over the basic rules at the start of the event. There are additional details and instructions here: https://fishbowl-game.com/ if you would like to (re)familiarize yourself with the game.
By signing up for this event you are agreeing to abide by our harassment policy https://vsdc.org/policies/
Don't be a no show! If your plans change, update your RSVP so that another may attend.

- Party at Cinnaholic
VSDC board member, Gary, is turning 50! To celebrate his birthday, we will meet at Cinnaholic to enjoy $5 Gary Berry Rolls. The Gary Berry Roll is customized by Gary, and only offered at this price for his birthday.
Cinnaholic is a 100% vegan business. They specialize in cinnamon rolls that can be customized or kept traditional. They also have brownies, cookies, and cookie dough balls. You are more rhan welcome to enjoy anything from their menu if you want to opt for something other than the feetured roll.
Cinnaholic has limited space inside. We ask that you order your roll indoors, and take it outside to eat and socialize.
As always at our events we ask that you only eat vegan food around us. If you purchase a meal from another business or bring food, it must be vegan.
By attending this event we expect you will follow the policies outlined here https://vsdc.org/policies

- VSDC Book Club discusses "Caste" by Isabel Wilkerson (online)
Please join the Veg Society of DC Book Club discussion of Isabel Wilkerson's Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents.
Wilkerson examines the unspoken caste system -- a rigid hierarchy of human rankings -- that has shaped America. Linking the caste systems of America, India, and Nazi Germany, she explores eight pillars that underlie caste systems across civilizations.
To participate you must read at least half the book—and RSVP at least two days before the meeting.
The VSDC Book Club began meeting online in March 2020 (previously we met in vegetarian restaurants in DC or nearby Maryland or Virginia). People who RSVP yes will get the details to join the discussion (the weekend before the meeting). The details will not be posted on meetup.
We read fiction and nonfiction in alternating months, about any topic. For more information (including everything we have read over 30 years!) visit: https://vsdc.org/Book-Club
