PLNT Burger (Upstairs Taproom), 1635 Boro Pl, McLean, VA, USVeg Society of DC (VSDC) is pleased to join with The Ark of Compassion (AOC) to co-host a Plant-Based Lunch & Learn on Sunday, October 25 at PLNT Burger, (Tysons Corner location) 1635 Boro Place, McLean, VA 22102.
Let's come together for food, curiosity, and compassionate conversation.
Special Guest Speaker: Jonah Goldman, Co-Founder of PLNT Burger
PLNT Burger: Crafting the Future of Fast FoodAmericans eat a staggering 50 billion burgers every year, almost all of which come from factory farms. This system produces cheap (subsidized) food, but at the cost of vast resources, diet-related illness, and immense animal suffering. The traditional burger model—raising animals on feed crops in confined spaces—is cruel, wasteful, unhealthy, and outdated.
PLNT Burger is changing that. By combining plant-based innovation with a chef’s touch, they are creating burgers that are not only delicious, but also dramatically better for people and the planet. Compared to beef, PLNT burgers use:- 99% less water
- 93% less land
- 90% fewer greenhouse gases
…and they contain no cholesterol with less fat than traditional burgers.
• Cost/Food: Get your ticket here for a $25 vegan buffet.

19 attendeesVegan Trunk-or-Treat with VSDC Children's Playgroup
Brewing Good Coffee Company, 8600 Foundry St, Savage, MD, USLet's celebrate vegan Halloween together! Wear your costumes and join us at the 4th annual Vegan Trunk-or-Treat event hosted by Brewing Good Coffee Company, an amazing all-vegan shop in Savage, MD. The event takes place in the nearest parking lot and features a handful of decorated cars distributing only vegan candy (and some with allergy-friendly treats as well!).
This is an outdoor event. We will meet at the blue decorated van with a VSDC sign. Playgroup Coordinator, Jen, will be dressed as a bat, and her 3 year-old son will be dressed as a pumpkin.
We will be there between 12pm - 1:30pm so feel free to stop by anytime during that time frame and feel free to come and go. The kids will have fun collecting vegan goodies and getting to know each other!
Brewing Good sells delicious vegan baked goods as well as breakfast/lunch options, although lines will likely be long so you may also wish to bring snacks and/or lunch for your kid(s).
If you plan to attend, please also RSVP with Brewing Good here. For additional event details, click here and for general location details, visit Brewing Good's website here.
While the event and the VSDC Children's Playgroup is all-vegan, our meetup welcomes veg (or veg-curious) kids under the age of 10 to be accompanied by at least one parent or caregiver.
