DC VegFest

Join us at the 2012 DC VegFest on Saturday, September 22!

DC VegFest is a FREE outdoor festival celebrating the very best of everything vegetarian in and around the nation’s capital. With about 20 food vendors and approaching 100 commercial and non-profit exhibitors, as well as dynamic speakers and cooking demos, a kids area, and more, this annual event has something for everyone to enjoy!

Join us on Saturday, September 22nd, at the beautiful Yards Park in the riverfront district of Washington, DC - about 2 blocks east from Nationals Stadium, along the water, and near the historic Navy Yard. Metro accessible: Navy Yard (Green Line).

Update: we're in good shape for volunteers - THANKS all!

Spread the word - tell your family and friends about DC VegFest!  We had about 6,000 people come last year and expect even more this year in our larger venue.

DC VegFest is co-organized by the Vegetarian Society of DC and our friends at Compassion Over Killing.  More information is on the dedicated DC VegFest website at:

The DC VegFest was phenomenal. So many wonderful speakers and organizations participated. I loved meeting Dr. Michael Gregor, tasting the Beyond Meat BBQ chicken at the Great Sage Restaurant table and having an amazing choice of vegan food from all the vendors. Love to my friends at Open the Cages, FARM and all the vegan outreach groups. You are healing the world. Thank you event organizers. Great job! VEGAN POWER!

Lots of fun. Wish I had another day or two to look around. So much to see and so many interesting people that I didn't have time for it all!

VSDC is overjoyed with the success of the DC VegFest - a spectacular event for the DC area! THANKS to everyone for spreading the word, coming, and helping, and to COK for their amazing efforts!

I had a great time and thought the event was a huge succes. A couple of suggestions are:
    1. A map or handout listing the vendors and their table locations would be helpful.
    2. Clearly marked information booth or table.
    3. The speakers voices sometimes sounded muffled from the microphone.

It was wonderful. Thank you for all the effort and hard work. A great time was had by all!!

VegFest was fabulous. Tons of info to see and foods to taste. I wish there were more raw vegan options though

Good. Need more free samples available and a place for all the dogs.

I did not see too many pop bags.

Great! Seemed so much bigger this year than last year, which is both good and bad. However, there were so many vendors and a lot of great food. VSDC and CoK should be proud!
