Chichester to West Wittering
One of the best and certainly most varied walks that the group does! Meet by BOOTS next to the ticket office. Please arrive by 8.45am with around £26 in cash ( of which meetup fee £5 ) so as to facilitate the purchase of group train tickets to Chichester and we shall take the 9.36am train that arrives at 11.06am. Please bring packed lunch, water, snacks etc waterproof jacket and walking shoes/boots. Maybe sunglasses, hat and suncream too if it's hot enough. The walk is around 12 miles in length firstly walking along the disused Chichester Shipping Canal, then alongside Chichester Marina before becoming an amazingly beautiful coastal walk to West Wittering. Please have adequate and appropriate insurance for this type of activity and you should be able to walk 2.5 miles per hour. We shall stop for a drink in The Ship pub several miles before arriving at West Wittering. Let's go with the flow! At West Wittering we may spend some time at the beach at my discretion if we arrive before 5pm taking into account that we shall already have walked 12 miles and will certainly have an ice cream and a tea or coffee before taking the bus back to Chichester. We shall aim to take the 53 bus at 5.26pm and then the 6.09pm train that arrives back at 7.41pm or the 6.39pm train that arrives back at 8.11pm. Its your responsibility to take heed of all timings and to show respect to fellow members and to the organizers. Anyone falling foul of this shall be removed from the group. My no is[masked]

What we're about

Dog friendly Walks by Water takes you on a journey through the landscapes of an England where rivers wind through enchanting countryside, sheer cliffs stand guard beside the mighty sea, swans glide serenely over romantic lakes and ancient canals echo with the toil of thousands of labourers who dug them through the meadows and forests of old. Keep fit, meet interesting and friendly people and see breathtaking sights most of us can only dream of.
